LEYTON: Street fight leaves man in hospital

A MAN suffered serious head injuries during a viscious mid-afternoon street attack.p>

Violence flared between two men at the junction of Leyton High Road and Coopers Lane at around 1.30pm.

Witnesses heard shouting and saw a man in his early 20s being attacked.

The injured man was rushed to Whipps Cross Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. There was a heavy police presence in the area well into the evening.

The road and surrounding area was cordoned off for a number of hours while police and sniffer dogs searched the scene.

A front window of Othi Cuisine Caribbean take away was smashed during the fight.

Back
